Bo Davis became a household name after a viral video surfaced that included emotional, profanity-filled speech from the Texas Longhorns’ offensive line coach on the team bus surfaced following the loss at Iowa State.

On Thursday, Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian was more than supportive of Davis when asked about the video.

“I think one thing that jumped out to me when I first saw the video is you could hear the passion in Bo’s voice,” Sarkisian said. “We really believe in the staff we hired and what we came here to do. I think you could feel the passion and the want to get it done.”

Sarkisian adamantly shut down the notion that the incident is a distraction, while continuing to support Bo Davis.

“I didn’t view it as a distraction,” the Texas coach said.

“It’s football. This is an emotional sport. Clearly, Bo was exuding a great deal of emotion and passion in what he was saying.”

The Texas Longhorns on Saturday suffered their fourth consecutive loss, which looked to send Davis over the edge.

Bo Davis viral video emerges

Texas dropped to 4-5 (2-4) with the loss, as first-year head coach Steve Sarkisian continues to take steps backwards in Austin. The Longhorns blew another lead on Saturday, though this one was only a 7-3 halftime lead, an unfortunate turn of events for a program that blew three-straight double-digit leads before heading to Ames. Davis, a member of Sarkisian’s initial staff, appears to have lost his cool at his unit following Saturday’s loss.

A video surfaced on Twitter Tuesday in which a user claims Bo Davis is yelling choice words at the Texas players.

“Some of you motherf— need to get in the transfer portal,” the voice says, in part. “You want to go? Get in the motherf—. This s— ain’t a game to me. … I got my a— kicked, and you motherf— want to laugh?”

Bo Davis is in his first year under Sarkisian at Texas, just the latest landing spot in college football and the NFL. He was at LSU from 2002-05 under Nick Saban and Les Miles before he followed the former to the Miami Dolphins in 2006. He followed Saban again to Alabama, coaching the defensive line from 2007-10 before taking his first gig at Texas from 2011-13 under College Football Hall of Famer Mack Brown. He then had a few stops back at Alabama and the NFL before landing back in Austin.
