Brock Cunningham shares why Texas offense looks better this season
Texas has won its last two games and has done so while scoring plenty of points, something the Texas offense has seemingly made a habit of this year.
The Longhorns have proven plenty efficient on the offensive end, ranked 12th in Ken Pomeroy’s adjusted offensive efficiency as the regular season quickly comes to a close.
How have the Longhorns done it?
“This year to last year we’re playing with a better pace,” forward Brock Cunningham said. “There’s something to be said for chemistry. We’ve got a bunch of guys that played on last year’s team carrying it over to this year’s team and you can see how we mesh better after that year.
“Then also we’re deep. We have Christian Bishop, (Sir’Jabari Rice), Arterio (Morris), myself all coming off the bench and that’s nine guys that can play high-level basketball, and I think that’s a couple aspects of why our offense is better this year.”

Texas offense spreading it around
Unselfishness is the name of the game for the Texas offense. The Longhorns play a deep bench and the deep bench has produced.
That’s something Cunningham spoke to when discussing the success Texas has had of late.
“It’s nothing more than trying to impact winning. That’s the biggest goal,” Cunningham said. “Myself, Christian and Jabari could all be at places where we could start, but we’re all focused on winning. Our starting five is, I mean, extremely talented. So it’s just all about having the right mindset and being a team.”
Texas can turn its focus to winning more on Saturday with a big one: a road trip to take on No. 9 Baylor. That game will tip off at 2 p.m. ET on ESPN.
