Class of 2024 tight end Jordan Washington of Houston (TX) Langham Creek High announced his commitment to Texas Tuesday evening.

The 6-foot-5, 228 pounder chose the Longhorns over Texas A&M and Arizona State.

Washington on why he chose Texas

“The connection I had with my host, which was JT Sanders and coach Banks, they are both such great people. They both know what they are talking about and I’m also not far away from family at all. I have family there too in Austin. We all came to this decision and all knew it was the place to be. I know that if I keep this up I have the ability to play at the start.”

Relationship with coaching staff + their plan for him

“So I would say my relationship with coach Banks is like a best friend,” Washington said. “Like we both clicked. I picked up on what he was trying to say and he did the same with me. He plans on developing me into a great tight end, and maybe the best in college football.”

The Lone Star State tight end joins coach Steve Sarkisian and the Longhorns’ top 20 class in the 2024 team rankings. He is accompanied by four-star running back Jerrick Gibson, four-star safety Jordan Johnson-Rubell, and others.
