Last month, Texas found out one key player was coming back for a sixth year when Brock Cunningham made his decision. But another big one looms as Dylan Disu decides what’s next for him.

As the Longhorns prepared for their second game of the Big 12 Tournament, Disu didn’t sound ready to make a decision just yet. It sounds like that will come after the season.

“I have no idea right now,” Disu said. “I’m just, you know, trying to play this season, trying to win a championship and focus on what’s at hand right now. When the end of the season comes, I’ll sit down with my family and discuss that.”

Disu is a key piece for Texas this year, averaging 7.7 points per game and a team-high 1.4 blocks per game as a fifth-year senior. He’s in his second year with the Longhorns after transferring from Vanderbilt last season.

Rodney Terry explains Timmy Allen’s absence, reveals status moving forward

Timmy Allen did not play in Texas‘ first game of the Big 12 Tournament on Thursday but head coach Rodney Terry said the absence should not be a major concern. While he doesn’t know when Allen will return, Terry said it shouldn’t be a long-term injury.

“It’s just a day-to-day situation right now, lower leg situation,” Terry said after Texas defeated Oklahoma State.

According to Terry, Allen was injured during the Longhorns’ regular season finale against Kansas, which Texas won 75-59.

Allen scored just six points in the win but added six rebounds, three assists and had a plus/minus of +17.

“Timmy got nicked up a little bit in the Kansas game, and we immediately started working on his recovery,” Terry said. “We got one of the best trainers in the country, Joe Reilly, strength coach. They have been working with him the last couple days, and we just made a decision that we are going to go day-to-day, and he’s getting better each and every day. But we’ll put him back out there when the opportunity presents itself to where he’s 100%.”
