4-star CB Eli Bowen, younger brother of Peyton Bowen, sets official visit to Texas
Denton (Texas) Guyer four-star cornerback Eli Bowen has locked in an official visit with Texas on June 16 per Gerry Hamilton. Eli is the younger brother to Oklahoma safety Peyton Bowen, a 2023 five-star recruit.
According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM) Oklahoma is the heavy favorite to reunite the brothers. The Sooners stand with an 88.7% chance to land his pledge.
Texas extended an offer to the younger Bowen last November.
The 5-foot-9, 170-pounder is the No. 360 overall prospect and No. 39 cornerback in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 60 player in Texas.
Eli spoke with On3’s Chad Simmons in March stating that a top-10 list would be coming in the next few months. A few of the schools he knew that would be on the list include Oklahoma, Texas, Texas A&M, Oregon, Nebraska and TCU.
“Communication,” Bowen told Simmons about why these programs are standing out. “They’ve been texting me, trying to get relationships better.”
Eli watched firsthand how the recruitment process plays out as he watched his brother go through his process.
Peyton was a longtime Notre Dame commit before flipping to Oregon on the first day of the Early Signing Period. A day later flipped from the Ducks to Oklahoma.

“It helped me prepare, for how difficult it was for him,” Eli said. “It helped me prepare for the lessons I need to learn, like you should shut down your recruitment before the very last second.”
Wherever he ends up, Eli knows what he’s looking for specifically in the school he eventually commits to.
“When they explain their defensive scheme, I feel like I need to see myself in it,” Bowen told Simmons. “I want to be able to win, not be in a losing program. I just have to see how they develop their players and how they develop the team and how they build them up.”
Eli currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $39K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
