Five-Star Plus+ QB Arch Manning tosses three TD passes in win
Arguably the most anticipated high school senior season in recent memory began Friday night for Five-Star Plus+ quarterback and Texas commit Arch Manning.
The No. 1 player in the On3 Consensus rankings, Manning has drawn lots of attention — and criticism from fans of opposing programs — heading into his final year at the prep level.
On Friday though, he led his Isidore Newman (La.) squad, which competes at the 2A level, to a resounding 35-14 win over 5A Hahnville. In the process, Manning completed 8 of 14 passes for 142 yards and three touchdowns, including these:

Up 21-14 in the third quarter, Newman ran a flea-flicker. Manning ran the play flawlessly and hit his receiver wide open downfield for a touchdown to give Newman a 28-14 lead.
Earlier in the game, Manning found his running back wide open on the sideline for his first touchdown of the season. The score gave Newman a 13-0 lead.
Arch Manning On3 Scouting Summary
The following is the On3 Scouting Summary for Arch Manning:
“Possesses a pure throwing motion with one of the quickest releases we’ve seen from a high school quarterback prospect. Those mechanics pair with a strong arm to make Manning one of the more natural and accurate passers in the 2023 cycle. Has the ability to carve up opposing defenses from inside the pocket or outside of structure when things break down. Shows innate field vision for his age with the ability to find open receivers while making second-reaction plays.
“An above average athlete for the position with polished footwork and the capability of picking up yards in scramble situations. Has filled out a big frame over his high school career, entering his junior year as the most physically developed top quarterback in the 2023 cycle. Also carries a substantial mental load for a junior quarterback with the responsibility of setting protections.”
