Former Texas running back Bijan Robinson will workout at 2023 NFL Scouting Combine
Former Texas Longhorns running back Bijan Robinson plans to put his full skillset on display this week at the 2023 NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis. Although not all the top prospects plan to go through drills, the potential No. 1 RB off the board intends to fully participate, according to NFL insider Tom Pelissero.
“Texas RB Bijan Robinson, the consensus top back in the 2023 NFL Draft, plans to do all on-field drills and testing at this week’s combine here in Indianapolis, per source,” Pelissero shared on Monday. “Texas pro day is March 9, just three days after the combine. But Robinson wants to compete.”
ESPN has Robinson ranked as the No. 1 best-available running back prospect in this year’s draft class.
For the Longhorns this season, he rushed for 1,580 rushing yards and 18 touchdowns. Also very good with his hands, Robinson added another 314 yards receiving.
ESPN draft analyst Todd McShay recently compared the Longhorns star to Saquon Barkley.
“Bijan Robinson, to me, is the next Saquon Barkley,” McShay said. “He can do everything you want in terms of forced missed tackles, catch the ball out of the backfield, pass protection.”

The 2023 NFL Draft takes place from Thursday, April 27 through Saturday, April 29 in Kansas City, Missouri. The event location this year is the plaza just outside of Union Station.
Round 1 of the NFL Draft begins at 8 p.m. ET on Thursday, Apr. 27. Rounds 2-3 will begin at 7 p.m. ET on Friday, Apr. 28, and Rounds 4-7 will begin at 12 p.m. ET on Saturday, Apr. 29. The draft broadcast runs throughout the weekend on both ESPN and NFL Network.
To be eligible for the NFL Draft, players must be at least three years removed from their final year of high school while having used up their collegiate eligibility. One hundred underclassmen gained approval for last year’s draft. Seventy-three of those 100 underclassmen received special eligibility while 27 of them were underclassmen who had completed their college degrees.
The 2023 NFL scouting combine will take place from Feb. 28 through March 6 in Indianapolis.
