Four-star cornerback Santana Wilson of Scottsdale (AZ) Desert Mountain High announced his commitment to Texas Saturday evening.

The 6-foot-0, 185 pounder chose the Longhorns over Tennessee, Texas A&M, and Oklahoma.

Wilson on why he chose Texas

“When I came out I just got the real family feeling and I knew this was the place I can call home,” Wilson said. “Then on top of that the facility and just the way everyone is always together and caring for one another.”

Relationship with coaching staff + their plan for Santana Wilson

“Definitely Terry Joseph. I mean it’s really everyone on the defensive staff because my dad knows everyone up here and I know they’re gonna take care of me. TJ basically brought me under his wing. Press man corner. Just like how they move right now. They love press man one on one matchups and I’m all about that.”

What it means to join program that produces DBs

“It means everything,” Wilson said. “Just knowing I’m going to be getting coached by the best and they can get me to where I want to be.”

The Copper State defensive back joins coach Steve Sarkisian and the Longhorns’ top 70 class in the 2024 team rankings. He is accompanied by four-star cornerback Hunter Moddon, three-star quarterback Trey Owens, and others.
