Isaiah Bond will suit up against Georgia on Saturday after missing most of last week’s game with an ankle injury.

Bond has been listed as questionable this week, but Longhorns head coach Steve Sarkisian shared promising news about the wideout on Wednesday. After being full-go at practice on Friday, ESPN’s Pete Thamel confirmed he will be back in the lineup for Saturday’s blockbuster SEC matchup.

“He’s full, ramped up and ready to go,” Thamel said on ESPN College GameDay. “He practiced full yesterday. He’s obviously a speedster — crowd really wants him here. It’ll be interesting to watch Quinn Ewers in this in this game tonight. He’s hitting his second game back from that oblique injury. And as he came back against Oklahoma, he only averaged 5.2 yards per air attempt, they really didn’t push the ball down the field.

“It will be interesting with another week to get better if he’s a little bit more aggressive against the Dawgs tonight.”

It appeared as though he was trending toward playing throughout the week, as he improved to probable on Friday ahead of Saturday’s matchup.

Texas will be glad that Bond is ready to go, as the Alabama transfer is the team’s leading wide receiver with 21 catches for 369 yards and three touchdowns this season.

For Georgia, they’re worrying about the injury status of their own offensive standout — offensive lineman Tate Ratledge

Ratledge suffered his injury in Week 3 against Kentucky and had the surgery the following week, as Georgia was on bye. With a typical recovery ranging from around a month to six weeks, Ratledge is now at the front end of his window to return to play heading into Week 8.

Head coach Kirby Smart shared an update on Ratledge’s status after the Bulldogs’ Week 7 win.

“He’s much closer,” Smart said. “He’s running. He’s on dry land running, pushing it. He’s got a custom-made brace. We keep hoping he gets better.”

Kickoff between Texas and Georgia is set for 7:30 p.m. ET live on ABC.
