Right before halftime, three key injuries occurred for Texas during Saturday’s College Football Playoff first-round game vs. Clemson, and all on the same play. Jake Majors, Cameron Williams, and Quintrevion Wisner had to leave the game before heading into the halftime locker room. The trio are critical to what Steve Sarkisian likes to do on the offensive end.

ESPN’s Laura Rutledge provided an all-around update out of the break, beginning with good news on the Texas running back.

“That’s the good news,” Rutledge said. “You see Quintrevion Wisner out there after he dealt with injuries at the end of the first half.

Jaydon Blue did play the final first-half drive for Texas but Wisner is out there to start the third quarter. He has been a rock for the Longhorns since taking over as the main ball carrier and flashed with two touchdowns early against Clemson. Getting him back is massive news.

Moving over to a pair of bad updates — neither Majors nor Williams went into the game to start the second half. Majors was late coming out of the locker room, causing for some reshuffling of the entire Texas offensive line.

“This Texas o-line is going to look different. Jake Majors, the center who is so important to this team, still has not come back out here. We do see Hayden Conner in as the center. Backup center Cole Hutson in at left guard. Trevor Goosby, impressive, is at right tackle. But guys, he can also play left.”

Conner slides over from left guard, while Hutson is now a part of the Texas five. He was able to contribute early in his career on the 40 Acres and will be no stranger to the moment.

There is some confidence in what Goosby can do at tackle. As Rutledge mentioned, he performed well on the left side when replacing Kelvin Banks due to his own injury. Sarkisian praised the second-year player heading into the Georgia matchup.

“I really thought we controlled the line of scrimmage tonight,” Sarkisian said following the Texas A&M game. “I was really proud of Trevor Goosby when Kelvin went down. Stepped in for his first real action and I thought performed well in not an easy environment to do that.”
