Jay Bilas explains why he likes Texas' draw in NCAA Tournament
After winning the Big 12 Tournament, the Texas Longhorns earned a two-seed in the NCAA Tournament. College basketball analyst Jay Bilas explained that he thinks the Longhorns got a good draw in that selection process.
Texas’ first game is going to play Colgate in the first round. Assuming Texas takes care of business, the Longhorns will be set to take on the winner of the Texas A&M–Penn State game.
“Texas, I think, got a pretty good draw here,” Jay Bilas said.

“Obviously, with Timmy Allen back, I think Texas is the best team at the bottom of this bracket and they play Colgate, Matt Langel’s team.”
Colgate dominated the Patriot League this season, going 17-1 in conference play and winning the Patriot League Tournament. Still, that’s a far cry from the Big 12.

Jay Bilas also predicted that Texas is going to make a deep run into the NCAA Tournament. That includes meeting one-seed Houston in what would be an incredible Elite Eight matchup. Bilas says that the Longhorns will win that game on their way to the Final Four.
Texas players make the case for Rodney Terry
As of now, Rodney Terry is still just Texas’ interim head coach. However, the Longhorns players have made it clear that they want him to stay for the long term.
Marcus Carr, a veteran guard, made the case very clear.
“Watch the game we just played and every single game we played this season,” Marcus Carr said.
