Jaydon Blue injury update: Steve Sarkisian shares latest on status of Texas RB
Jaydon Blue, who had one of his best outings of the season this past weekend for Texas, was reportedly seen wearing a sling on his arm following the game on Saturday.
With that, Steve Sarkisian addressed Blue’s status during his press conference on Monday. He said that he was alright as he was out with the Longhorns earlier today.
“I think Blue is good, you know,” said Sarkisian. “Like I said, he went with us today and worked this morning.”
Blue, Texas’ second-leading rusher this fall, had 14 carries for 85 yards this weekend in the 20-10 win at Arkansas. While he didn’t score, those were team-highs on the day while being the second-most touches and yardage for him over these nine games of his junior season. He also caught three passes for a total of 19 yards against the ‘Hogs.
On the year, Blue has 90 rushes for 459 yards, good for 51 per game and 5.1 a carry, for five touchdowns. The carries and rushing yards are second on the offense behind only Quintrevion Wisner while the five scores are a team-high for the Longhorns. He’s also the most productive back in pass-catching with 30 receptions for 263 yards and three more touchdowns.
It sounds per Sarkisian that all is fine as far as Blue. Still, it’ll be a designation worth noting if he were to appear on the injury report later on this week at Texas.
“We’ll see how it goes,” Sarkisian said.

Texas renewed an old rivalry this past weekend at Arkansas. While it looked like it was going to be close in the fourth quarter, the Longhorns got a big score and a timely turnover to defeat the Razorbacks and stay tied atop the standings in the SEC.
Kentucky took a break from conference play in their last game as Murray State came to Kroger Field. UK earned a resounding victory at 48-6, which ended a four-game losing streak as they hadn’t won since the end of September, to get to 4-6 overall.
