Alabama transfer LB Kendrick Blackshire commits to Texas

Alabama transfer linebacker Kendrick Blackshire has committed to Texas. He spent three years with the Crimson Tide before entering the transfer portal on Jan. 8.

Blackshire appeared in eight games for Alabama in 2023 and turned in his best season yet. He totaled a career-high 16 tackles and a tackle for loss, while also picking up a fumble recovery and forcing a fumble. All told, Blackshire had 25 tackles and two TFLs over 19 appearances with the Crimson Tide.

Kendrick Blackshire played high school football at Duncanville (TX) High School, where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 193 overall recruit in the 2021 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
