Kevin Durant visits Steve Sarkisian, Texas Football following win vs. Alabama
The 40 Acres has been buzzing over the past few days, with Texas fresh off a win against Alabama. Head coach Steve Sarkisian brought his team into Tuscaloosa and found a way to get a win against one of his mentors, Nick Saban. A historic night for the program and people from across the country have gone out of their way to congratulate the Longhorns on the victory.
One of those is NBA star Kevin Durant, who decided to pay Texas a visit in person. He was back in Austin on Tuesday, with the official Texas Football Twitter account posting a photo of Durant and Sarkisian. Both are flashing a Hook ‘Em for the quick snapshot.
“Great to have KD back on the Forty Acres! Thanks for stopping by @KDTrey5,” the tweet read.
You can check out Durant and Sarkisian posing for a photo at Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium here.
Durant only spent one season with Texas, playing under head coach Rick Barnes. However, he has been supportive of every program throughout the athletic department since leaving for the NBA. Football is no different and now, he wants to celebrate the great moment from Saturday night.

The Phonix Suns will begin the season on Oct. 24, hoping to win an NBA Championship. That means Durant will have the opportunity to attend a few home games, plus the Red River Shootout in Dallas against Oklahoma. DKR will be packed to the brim but when Durant decides to show up, he will likely be a guest on the field.
More on Kevin Durant, time at Texas
Durant will forever be a legend of the Texas basketball program — both for his one college season and what he has gone on to accomplish in the NBA. The 2006-2007 season saw Texas finish third in the Big 12 and make it to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. However, the individual achievements of Durant were more impressive.
In just one season, Durant was a consensus All-American, won the Wooden Award and the Naismith Award, and was named the Big 12 Player of the Year and to the Big 12 All-Defense team. There are plenty more accomplishments to his name but those are the most impressive.
The Seattle Supersonics drafted Durant No. 2 overall and the rest is history. Infamously leaving Oklahoma City for Golden State, Durant has two NBA championships for his time in the Bay Area. Hopefully, he will be able to grab another one before officially retiring.
