LOOK: 2024 top-60 S Jordon Johnson-Rubell on visit to Texas
Fort Worth (Texas) IMG Academy four-star safety Jordon Johnson-Rubell took an unofficial visit to Texas last weekend for the Longhorns’ 41-20 win over UTSA. It’s clear he enjoyed his time in Austin.
“It was great,” Johnson-Rubell told On3’s Justin Wells. “A lot of love at Texas. And the fanbase was insane, calling my name to take pictures was definitely an eye-opener me being so young.”
A few days after the Texas trip, Johnson-Rubell posted photos from his unofficial visit.
Johnson-Rubell is the No. 60 overall prospect and No. 5 safety in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 17 player in Florida.
The 5-foot-9.5, 165 pound prospect has taken two unofficial visits to Texas. His previous one was on June 11. A key reason for his interest in the Longhorns is their coaching staff.
“First off, I’ll like to say the relationship I have with (safeties) coach (Blake) Gideon, (secondary) coach (Terry) Joseph, and (head) coach (Steve Sarkisian),” Johnson-Rubell said. “Three great coaches who aren’t recruiting me just at safety, but at Star and corner too. The atmosphere of the crowd was great. Jahdae Barron’s Interception to the house was beautiful. I love how (DeMarvion) Overshown was all over the field making plays, and (D’Shawn) Jamison had multiple pass breakups.”

Other programs have received visits from the four-star, including Alabama, Florida and Oklahoma. But according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, Texas has a commanding lead for Johnson-Rubell’s commitment at 95.7%.
RPM was released to the public in December. The On3 engineering group teamed up with Spiny.ai to create the industry’s first algorithm and machine learning-based product to predict where athletes will attend college.
It factors in machine learning, social sentiment, visits and historical trends. However, expert predictions are still a big piece of the RPM equation.
Johnson-Rubell has an On3 NIL Valuation of $80K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
