LOOK: Steve Sarkisian uses Super Bowl halftime show in odd tweet

Texas Longhorns head coach Steve Sarkisian was quick to his camera on Sunday during the Super Bowl halftime. He couldn’t miss the opportunity to capture a subtle horns-up from the legend Dr. Dre.
Sark got the shot, albeit a little blurry, and shared it with Longhorn nation, racking up more than 3,000 likes. This year’s halftime show featuring Dr. Dre, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, Mary J. Blige, Snoop Dogg and 50 Cent was widely reviewed as one of the best performances in Super Bowl history.
Texas had two former players representing them at Super Bowl 56 between the Cincinnati Bengals and L.A. Rams. Their participation made it 17 consecutive seasons for Longhorns appearing in the big game.
Trey Hopkins, who played for the Longhorns from 2010-13, started 15 games at center for the Bengals this season, protecting Burrow and helping clear the path for Joe Mixon and Samaje Perine. Joseph Ossai was also on the field, but on the sideline after undergoing knee surgery prior to his rookie season.
The streak for Texas dates back to Super Bowl XL. In that year, Casey Hampton and the Pittsburgh Steelers prevailed over Marcus Tubbs, D.D. Lewis, and the Seattle Seahawks.

Sarkisian revamping for Year Two
The Longhorns finished with just a 5-7 record in Sarkisian’s inaugural season, but there is hope for improvement going forward.
Steve Sarkisian added former five-star quarterback Quinn Ewers to the roster from Ohio State for the spring semester. Ewers is already in the Heisman odds picture in Vegas. In fact, he has the best odds of any quarterback who didn’t start in 2021. The Texas native will sport No. 3 for the Longhorns this season.
The second-year Longhorns head coach also shook up his coaching staff this offseason. Taking a page out of Nick Saban’s playbook, Sarkisian even added former TCU head coach Gary Patterson as an analyst. Texas opens the 2022 season on Sept. 3 against Louisiana-Monroe.
