Texas 4-star CB commit Malik Muhammad records pick-six

Dallas South Oak Cliff four-star cornerback Malik Muhammad is one of the top defensive backs in the 2023 cycle. The Texas commit showcased why on Friday night against Port Neches (Texas) Port Neches-Groves in the 5A Division II state championship.

Muhammad perfectly read a pass from Port Neches-Groves’ quarterback and intercepted the ball. He then raced down the left side of the field for a pick-six.

A 5-foot-11, 180-pound defensive back, Muhammad is the No. 46 overall prospect and No. 5 cornerback in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 7 player in Texas.

On3 rates Muhammad higher than other recruiting services, according to the Industry Comparison. Per the 2023 On300, he is the No. 38 overall prospect, No. 4 cornerback and No. 7 player in Texas.

Muhammad is the sixth-highest-rated recruit in the Longhorns’ 2023 recruiting class. Texas’ group currently ranks No. 3 in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings and No. 1 in the Big 12.
