Texas offensive lineman Sawyer Goram-Welch plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal, he announced via X on Wednesday. After four years with the program, Goram-Welch will be looking to close out his college career elsewhere.

Goram-Welch has played in just one game during the 2023 season and five throughout his career. He went through the Senior Day ceremony at Texas during the regular season finale against Texas Tech as well, being honored for his time on the team through the struggles.

When Goram-Welch originally showed up on the 40 Acres, he was not an offensive lineman. He was recruited by Tom Herman’s staff to play the defensive line. However, the switch was made over to the other side of the ball where he was a reserve center for the Longhorns.

Goram-Welch played high school football at Longview (TX) High School, where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 1,201 overall recruit in the 2020 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Rankings, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
