There are perks to having a last name like Manning. That includes a wealth of knowledge for someone like Arch Manning as he continues on his own football journey.

Peyton Manning recently discussed Arch, his nephew, at the Manning Pass Academy. In doing so, he explained the family pride in their next edition coming up through the sport and how they all, including himself, have tried to pass on what they know down to him.

“I’m well-documented on how proud we are of Arch,” Manning said per OnTexasFootball. “I try to be a resource to him. He and I worked out several weeks ago together.”

Again, it’s well-known as to the football royal that the Mannings are. Peyton and Eli, Arch’s uncles, are both Super Bowl champions and Pro Bowlers. That’s after the pair played a combined 34 years in the NFL. That’s not to mention the former being an All-Pro, an MVP, and a Hall of Famer.

That before you even get to their father and Arch’s grandfather in Archie Manning. He also spent 14 years in the league himself as a two-time Pro Bowels.

Each of the three were top-two picks in their respective drafts in 1971, 1998, and 2004 with Peyton and Eli both going No. 1 overall.

Cooper Manning, Arch’s father, had his own football career through Isidore Newman School and Ole Miss. However, it wasn’t as long or as notable as those of his brothers and father. Still, their tree’s love for and success in the sport eventually passed down to his own son in Arch.

Arch Manning was the No. 1 high school prospect in 2023 according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He finished rated as a five-star recruit and made his eventual commitment to Texas.

Manning is now entering his second season with the Longhorns in 2024. He will once again be in a backup role for this year behind one of the best quarterbacks in the nation in Quinn Ewers, a former five-star and top overall prospect in his own right. Even so, it will give him the opportunity to follow his uncles, who played for Tennessee and Ole Miss, in another way with his team officially joining the SEC.

Football is everything in a family like the Mannings with each of their respective careers in the game. That’s why Arch has every asset to have a similar path as they did before him, including his own relatives in all-time players like Peyton.
