Texas had TCU on the ropes at the bottom of the ninth inning in Forth Worth. Then, on a wild play from the junior, outfielder Porter Brown delivered a strike of a kill shot to the Horned Frogs.

Brown first secured the flyout to pick up the second out of the frame. He then fired a missile to home plate to beat the tying run and give the Longhorns the second win of their conference series in Lupton Stadium.

Brown finished with three putouts on the day. However, none were bigger than this one that gave his team their 30th win of the season.

This was also a highly significant play for Brown as an individual. He started his career at TCU and competed for the Horned Frogs over the last four seasons. That career featured 112 games in purple as he finished with a .286 batting average along with 83 runs scored and nine home runs.

This was as clutch as it gets for Brown as he got Texas across the finish line with his heroics. It likely felt even sweeter for him too considering where he started his college baseball career.

The Longhorns now lead the series 2-0 with the 3-2 this evening after coming out with an 8-4 victory on Saturday.

Texas legend Colt McCoy sends message to Bijan Robinson following NFL Draft

From one Texas legend in Colt McCoy to another in Bijan Robinson, congratulations were sent following the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft.

The former Longhorns running back’s childhood dream came true on Thursday, as Robinson was selected with the No. 8 overall pick by the Atlanta Falcons. McCoy knows all about the journey from Texas to the NFL, and had some kind words for a player he certainly would’ve loved to hand the ball off to.

Check out the video below, shared to Twitter by the Texas Football account, where McCoy sets off a string of congratulations for Robinson.

“Hey Bijan, welcome to the NFL man. I know you’ve put in so much time and energy and hard work. There’s been so much sacrifice and dedication,” stated the legendary Texas quarterback. “Man, your time at UT was very special. We’re all excited for you. Congrats, and go get them in Atlanta. See ya.”

Robinson will continue to carry that Texas pride with him moving forward into the NFL, where he’ll likely become one of the most exciting players in the entire league.
