On Monday, On3’s Pete Nakos reported over 10,000 players have opted into the upcoming EA Sports College Football 25 video game. They will receive $600 from EA plus a free copy of the game. However, not every star is set to be in the game, with Arch Manning reportedly not opting in.

According to Anwar Richardson of Orangebloods, Manning will not be EA Sports College Football 25. Instead, the main focus for the Texas second-year quarterback is continuing his on-field development.

“Multiple people have told me Texas redshirt quarterback Arch Manning will not opt into EA Sports College Football 25,” Richardson said via X. “I’m told Arch is focused on playing football on the field.”

Texas fans have to be excited about the upcoming EA Sports College Football 25 release. Starting quarterback Quinn Ewers has opted into the game and will be available for use. Ewers could wind up being one of the highest-rated players in the game.

Unfortunately, for those looking to begin a dynasty mode in Austin, you may not be able to have the Manning name on your roster.

Manning still has multiple years of eligibility remaining and will have more opportunities to opt into future college football games. Maybe when he officially becomes the starting quarterback at Texas, we will see him get in the mix.

Arch Manning coming back to Texas for 2024 season

Manning spent his true freshman season as the third-string quarterback at Texas, playing behind Ewers and Maalik Murphy. However, with Murphy transferring out of the program to receive playing time at Duke, Manning will slot into the backup role.

If he wanted to enter the NCAA transfer portal and do something similar, Manning easily could. But head coach Steve Sarkisian will see the former Five-Star Plus+ prospect and No. 1 overall player in the 2023 recruiting cycle return. Something Sarkisian is crucial for the development of Manning.

“I think for Arch, what a great opportunity, as a backup now in his second season,” Sarkisian said. “Going to get some definite playing time. We’re looking forward to him doing that, watching his maturation and growth.”

Sarkisian did say Texas will attempt to get Manning some playing time. Thus far, we have only seen him on the field once. In the regular season finale against Texas Tech, Manning got a few drives in the fourth quarter.

Now, we will get to see him face off vs. SEC opponents this upcoming fall.
