With how they were again handled in their last game, Quinn Ewers vs. Arch Manning is a conversation again in Austin. However, Paul Finebaum and Heather Dinich disagree as it’s not worth discussing at all for Texas.

Finebaum and Dinich gave quick answers this morning to whether there’s a chance of a quarterback change for the Longhorns while on ‘Get Up’. Both said no as, despite the potential of Manning, Ewers is the best option for them at the position right now.

“No,” said Finebaum. “Quinn Ewers is still the better quarterback. Arch Manning is fantastic, is the best backup in America but, right now, Sark is making the right decision.”

“No. Leave (Ewers) in the game,” Dinich added.

Again, this goes back to how it went for the pair again this past weekend against Georgia. After a bad start for the offense, Steve Sarkisian subbed out Ewers for Manning for the final two drives of the first half. While Ewers was immediately reinserted in the second half, it started the debate again between the two, especially in a primetime spot like it was. It actually then led to even more inaccurate hearsay to start off this week.

Ewers went 25/43 (58.1%) for 211 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception. Manning was then 3/6 (50%) for 19 yards for no scores or picks. The two of them also fumbled three times with all three being lost to the defense of the Bulldogs. That was with them under much pressure too as they took seven sacks.

This comes after Manning played well over a two and a half game stretch in Ewers’ absence with an injury. He had through the end of September and into October for himself as he showed why many are high on him, regardless of his last name. However, after almost a month of precaution to heal, Ewers was back as the starter for the Red River Rivalry.

Ewers v. Manning will continue to be a thing, specifically now that the backup has had the opportunity to play now. Still, Finebaum and Dinich continue to agree with Sarkisian in staying with Ewers as their starter.
