Quinn Ewers still has at least one game left in his college football career. The Texas quarterback has yet to announce his plans for the future, but he will at least lead the Longhorns on Wednesday against Arizona State.

Even though Ewers’ career is still ongoing, he was asked to reflect on what it has been like to get to this point during an appearance on the SEC Network Monday morning.

“Man, it’s been an unbelievable journey,” Quinn Ewers said. “In high school, you’re just playing because it’s fun. You’re just going off instincts.

“Then you get to college and you’re like, ‘Oh wow, there’s more to it than just instincts and fun.’ But the journey’s been unbelievable.”

Quinn Ewers was ranked as a five-star recruit and the No. 1 overall player in the country in the class of 2021, per the On3 Industry Rankings. He signed with Ohio State out of high school and spent a year with the Buckeyes before transferring to Texas.

Ewers was named the Big 12 Newcomer of the Year in 2022 when he started 10 games for the Longhorns. He was then a second-team All-Big 12 honoree in 2023 and had another strong year in 2024, despite battling injuries.

It hasn’t always been smooth sailing for Quinn Ewers, but he is thankful for everyone who helped him get to this point. He also shared that he relied heavily on his faith along the way.

“I’ve had so many great people by my side and in my corner that have helped me along the way. And you know, I wouldn’t be anywhere without Jesus helping me along the way, as well,” Quinn Ewers said. “Just the influence that the Bible has on my life has been unbelievable.

“I think this whole team, we pray once, if not twice, every single day as a team. And it’s just been cool to see everybody grow in their own faith.”

Quinn Ewers has thrown for 2,867 yards and 26 touchdowns, with 10 interceptions heading into the quarterfinals of the College Football Playoff. He has led Texas to where it expected to be this season, fighting for a national championship.
