The Texas Longhorns are targeting Ohio State graduate assistant LaAllen Clark for an outside linebacker coaching position, sources told Matt Zenitz of 247sports on Sunday. Clark has worked with the Buckeyes the last two years.

Before joining Ohio State, Clark was a defensive ends coach at Southern University, joining the Buckeyes staff in 2023 to work with their defensive line. He played defensive end at Grambling State and Northwestern State. Clark began his coaching career with Prairie View A&M in 2019. He is originally from Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Clark also has extensive experience training current and former NFL defensive linemen as the CEO of LC Performance. Some of his more high-profile clients include Ed Oliver, Jeffrey Simmons, and Danielle Hunter.

Several Ohio State coaches are leaving Columbus

The Ohio State coaching staff has been raided in the offseason, shortly after they won the 2024 College Football Playoff national title over Notre Dame. First, defensive coordinator Jim Knowles departed for Penn State. Then, OSU offensive coordinator Chip Kelly decided to leave for the same position with the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday.

According to Albert Breer of Monday Morning Quarterback, Kelly will earn $6 million per season, making him the highest-paid offensive coordinator in the NFL. It’s more than double his salary was with Ohio State this year.

“The Raiders told candidates during their search they were making a serious commitment with an infusion of cash from the new owners,” Breer wrote on X. “Here it is—Chip Kelly was lured to Vegas with a deal averaging $6 million per year, per sources. Kelly is now the NFL’s highest-paid coordinator.”

After their gut-wrenching loss to Michigan, the Buckeyes managed to rebound and claim the 2025 College Football Playoff National Championship, easily handling Notre Dame in the title game. While Kelly and the other coaches depart this offseason, they left OSU fans with a memory that will undoubtedly last a lifetime, a national crown.
