Rodney Terry knew heading into Tuesday’s game between his Texas team and Oklahoma State that rebounding was going to be a major key of the game.

He proved to right. The Longhorns outrebounded the Cowboys 41-27 in Austin, Texas, on their way to an 89-75 victory.

Texas also grabbed 14 offensive rebounds, leading to 16 second-chance points.

“It was a big emphasis going into the ballgame,” Terry said in the press conference after the final buzzer. “Their an elite level rebounding team. They did a great job on the class up there. We did a good job today though. We had 12 offensive rebounds at their place and ended up with 14 tonight.”

Dylan Disu led the way for Rodney Terry’s team on the rebounding front with eight boards to go along with 12 points.

The interim head coach also highlight fellow frontcourt Dillon Mitchell as another player who did a really good job attacking the boards. Mitchell finished the game with five rebounds, four of which came on the offensive side of the ball.

“Thought Dylan Disu was really great on the offensive glass,” Terry said. “I thought Dillon Mitchell gave us great activity on the glass. But to have 14 offensive rebounds is really big and to be plus-14, that was a huge point in the game.”

Marcus Carr led the way for Texas with 21 points on 7-for-11 shooting, five assists, four rebounds and three steals. Timmy Allen also added 17 points and six rebounds.
