Bijan Robinson reveals discussions, relationship with LeBron James
Bijan Robinson entered the 2022 season as a fan favorite in Austin and arguably the top running back in college football. He’s been able to elevate his status even further, becoming one of the more popular players across the country, regardless of sport. Even LeBron James has taken notice of the Texas star.
James and Robinson were able to meet on Friday, with the running back in Los Angeles. In what was a star-studded moment for Robinson, meeting somebody he looked up to was a special moment.
“LeBron is a role model to me,” Robinson said. “He’s a guy that I look up to a lot through his whole career. Just because he’s been so consistent on the court and off the court.”
But James was quick to flip the script. One of the greatest to ever do it on a basketball court was singing the praises of Robinson, who is set to prepare for the 2023 NFL Draft. “Dying inside” is how Robinson described how he felt meeting up with LBJ.
“When I saw him on Friday, the first interaction was him saying he’s a fan of me,” Robinson said. “I was dying inside because I am such a fan of him.”

LeBron James put things into perspective for Bijan Robinson
Robinson was a five-star recruit coming out of high school and lived up to the billing in Austin. He rushed for over 3,000 yards throughout his career and was the heart and soul of Texas’ offense most of the time. He will be considered a legend of the program but now has NFL aspirations.
James was able to put things into perspective for Robinson when it comes to becoming a star at the next level. Putting in hard work matters, both on and off the field. Robinson now has first-hand experience with how a top-level professional conducts himself.
“Just seeing how he carries himself as a man and as an athlete — just being able to talk to him the way that we did and interact,” Robinson said. “It was just really cool to hear his voice and hear somebody from such a high level from himself. And for me as a player that wants to be at a level like him one day, it put a lot of things into perspective for me.
“Now I know that all the hard work that I am trying to be putting in and that I am going to continue to put in, now I have an example that I talked to to really look up to and try to be where he’s at one day.
