Steve Sarkisian gives positive injury report ahead of Texas opener vs. ULM
The Texas Longhorns open their season against the ULM Warhawks. Being a violent sport, injuries are always going to happen in football. But, with Alabama around the corner, Steve Sarkisian and the Longhorns are going to look to avoid anything major.
Of course, injuries can also happen during the offseason and in practice. So, Steve Sarkisian met with the media, where he was able to give an update on Texas’ injuries ahead of the team’s season opener.
“We’re really healthy,” Steve Sarkisian said.

“I credit our training staff. I credit the players that did get nicked up to work themselves back.”
“You know, the one guy that’s probably out-out, outside of the two season-ending injuries, is Alfred Collins. But, shoot, he practiced today. So, we’re excited about what it looks like for him coming out of this ballgame. But, we won’t play him this week. The rest of our guys are ready to go. And so, like I said, it’s a credit to the guys that did get nicked up of doing the rehab and the recovery, getting themselves healthy, and to our training staff of putting in the time and the hours and the effort to get them there as well,” Steve Sarkisian reiterated.

Steve Sarkisian is excited about the Texas defense
Defense has been an issue for Texas in recent years. However, Steve Sarkisian is confident that this unit could be a surprise strength in 2022.
“I’ve talked it kind of big picture about our team, but I definitely feel it on defense. I feel like we’re playing as one. We’re not playing as eleven individuals, but we’re actually playing as one. I think there’s been really good communication,” Steve Sarkisian said.
