Steve Sarkisian invokes Michigan-Ohio State to explain stopping Texas players from stomping Texas A&M logo
Saturday was full of rivalry games across the college football slate. And we saw fights at several different games across the country. Tempers always flare in these type of games and Saturday was no different. Following the Texas-Texas A&M game, Steve Sarkisian made sure that his players didn’t stomp on the Aggies midfield logo.
Following the game, Sarkisian explained why he did it. “I just watched Michigan and Ohio State get in a brawl from my hotel room.” He said it wasn’t something the Longhorns should do.
Texas took care of business and handled Texas A&M, 17-7. The ending of their rivalry game was one of the few across the country on Saturday that ended in peace. It was absolute bedlam across a number of games, with even BYU and Houston throwing punches late in their contest.
Texas running back Quintrevion Winsner had 33 carries for 186 yards (career-high). He carried the Longhorns offensive attack. Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers finished completing 17 of his 28 passes for 218 yards, while tossing in a touchdown and an interception. Aggies quarterback Marcel Reed completed 16 of 23 passes for 146 yards, while tossing in an interception. He also tacked on 14 carries for 60 yards on the ground.
