Texas announces Bevo will attend Cotton Bowl at AT&T Stadium
Bevo is headed to the Cotton Bowl to cheer on the Texas Longhorns against the Ohio State Buckeyes in the Semifinals of the College Football Playoff, the program announced on Friday afternoon.
Previously, Bevo was not allowed to attend the SEC Championship Game or the Peach Bowl, due to there not enough room on the sidelines of Mercedes-Benz Stadium, according to the stadium. Now that Texas is moving to the Semifinals, the Cotton Bowl, which will be held at AT&T Stadium, is allowing the big guy to return.
While Texas fell without Bevo to Georgia in the SEC finale, it was able to survive against Arizona State in the Peach Bowl. With their live mascot on the sidelines, perhaps it’ll be the inspiration the Longhorns need to get the victory over the Buckeyes, who may be the hottest team in college football at the moment.
The College Football Playoff semifinal between Ohio State and Texas, which of course doubles as the Cotton Bowl, will be played on January 10th at 7:30 p.m. EST. Bevo will be there to drink it in.

Despite coming in as an underdog, as ESPN analyst Booger McFarland explained on First Take, the Buckeyes aren’t unbeatable. Because of that, fans shouldn’t discount the chance that Texas has to beat Ohio State in the semifinals.
“If you’re talking about the Longhorns being an underdog am I giving them a chance? Absolutely,” McFarland said, regarding Texas not getting a lot of love after their Peach Bowl win. “It’s amazing how we get caught up and we become prisoners of the moment.
“See, I’m old enough to remember this Ohio State team that lost to Michigan. Michigan. The same Michigan team that at a certain point couldn’t score points this season, but all of a sudden because this Ohio State team puts it together for two weeks and now all of a sudden they’re world beaters so they can beat anybody. I’m just old enough to remember this Ohio State team struggling with teams in the Big Ten all season.”
