Texas ties Oklahoma 7-7 on blocked punt for touchdown in Red River
It was barely six minutes into Red River and Texas tied Oklahoma 7-7 in a wild way at the Cotton Bowl.
Following Quinn Ewers’ second interception of the game, Oklahoma was backed up in the shadow of its own end zone. Three plays later, the Sooners were forced to punt.
Well, the Longhorns got back into it with a blocked punt for a touchdown as Kitan Crawford blocked and scooped it for the score.
If that was the first six minutes of the game, who knows what the rest of the game will entail?

Joining the Big Noon Kickoff crew on Saturday, Bruce Feldman explained why he believes Texas is enjoying a renewed resurgence in 2023, and he pondered just how far the Longhorns can go.

“Is Texas back? I’ll hold off on that a little bit longer, but here’s what I am confident saying, Texas is different. Texas is different from all those other UT teams that people snickered at,” explained Feldman. “I talked to a half dozen coaches who scouted and faced this team, this year, and the thing that they said, the reaction is unanimous, they think they’re absolutely talented enough and physical enough to be a College Football Playoff team this year. They talked about how their lineman are like the lineman that Alabama used to have. They pushed around the Crimson Tide when they played them.
“The other big thing is they say Steve Sarkisian has really evolved. He’s bought in to the run game. He’s bought into the physicality. He’s hired really good coaches. … It’s good-on-good at practice. You see it, it’s a very different Texas team. This is a program that went 15 years and only had two offensive lineman drafted. Much different Texas team. Much more physical. It’s not just Quinn Ewers. These guys can really get after it now.”
