Texas DL Jaray Bledsoe plans to enter NCAA Transfer Portal
Texas defensive lineman Jaray Bledsoe plans to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal, per ESPN’s Pete Thamel. This season is Bledsoe’s third with the Longhorns.
Bledsoe has appeared in two games this season, recording two total tackles. In the 2023 campaign, Bledsoe made a career-high eight appearances, tallying four tackles. Bledsoe only played in one game in his true freshman season in 2022 before redshirting.
Jaray Bledsoe played high school football at Marlin (TX), where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 144 overall recruit and No. 19 defensive lineman in the 2022 recruiting cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
Texas boasts the best defense in the SEC this season, only allowing 247.2 opponent yards per game. Moreover, the Longhorns have amassed 35 sacks in the 2024 campaign, the fourth-most in the conference.
Now, Bledsoe will look for a new home in college football that better suits his desires. The Longhorns can’t slow down to worry about Bledsoe’s decision for long.

Kirby Smart praises Texas for reaching SEC Championship
On Saturday, Texas will square off against Georgia in the SEC Championship. It’s an impressive feat for the Longhorns, who are in their debut season in the prestigious conference. On Monday, Georgia head coach Kirby Smart gave Texas its flowers.
“They earned it,” Smart said. “They played an SEC schedule. They won the most games of any SEC team this year. They’re a tremendous program. They’re built that way. They’re built to do that. They’ve got a tremendous amount of talent, and they’ve done a great job building to that, recruiting to that, that fanbase, that team. And they’ve done a great job of that.”
Texas and Georgia will square off at 4 p.m. ET on Saturday. The game will air live on ABC.
