Texas forward Christian Bishop ruled out following first-half fall

Things are not looking too good for the Texas Longhorns men’s basketball team and their Tuesday night matchup against the Kansas State Wildcats. The Longhorns went into the half trailing the Wildcats 58-40. And at the start of the second half, it was revealed that Texas forward Christian Bishop would not return to the game. Bishop will miss the remainder of the game with a back contusion.
The six-foot-seven senior forward from Lee’s Summit, MO, went down hard on his tailbone early in the first half. Bishop would later be subbed out and did not return to the game. His night ends after registering Five points on one of two shooting from the field with one rebound.
The Wildcats bombarded the Longhorns in the first half with impressive shooting and also won the rebound battle 23-15. Still, in the second half, Texas has a chance as they have dropped the lead to as little as nine points. If the Longhorns are going to complete the comeback on their home court, they will have to do it without their starting forward in Bishop.

“Another great Kansas State stat from @ESPNStatsInfo: The 116 points they scored tonight at Texas are the most that an unranked team has EVER scored in a road win over a top-10 opponent,” ESPN’s Jeff Borzello said via Twitter.
Triple digits have not been too far off from Kansas State this season, getting 90+ three different times. Incarnate Word was on the receiving end of 98 points in a nonconference showdown. A huge statement was made against one of the country’s best teams by new head coach Jermone Tang.
All five Wildcat starters were in double figures, with Markquis Nowell leading the way with 36 points and nine assists. Keyontae Johnson was not too far behind, dropping 28 points on 10 of 16 shooting.
