Texas forward Dylan Disu is 'day-to-day,' per report
Texas took a hit in its front-court during their win over Louisiana the other night when 6-foot-9 forward Dylan Disu went down with an ankle injury. He’s the tallest player on the Texas roster and one of just three rotation players taller than 6-foot-6. On a Texas team that lacks a lot of size, Disu was one of the few true forwards on the roster and was the top rim protector.
Luckily, though, Disu’s ankle injury is believed to be a small sprain and he is expected back pretty soon. Here was the latest on the Disu injury from Texas reporter Jeff Howe:
“I’ve been told @TexasMBB‘s Dylan Disu has a left knee sprain and his status is day-to-day. Disu was injured in the first half of last night’s 100-72 win over Louisiana. #Longhorns are off until Christmas Day and will then start prep for Texas A&M-Commerce next Tuesday. #HookEm“
Nice time for the Longhorns to get a little break, and especially nice for Disu, who maybe can recover and take the court next time out.

Interim Longhorns coach Rodney Terry commented on Disu after the Louisiana game, and didn’t have much to say, except that the training staff will work diligently to get him rehabbed and back on the basketball court.
“We don’t know at the moment right now with Dylan,” said Terry. “You know, we’ll have more tomorrow. We’ve got a great training staff. Warren Young (Associate Athletic Trainer for Texas Men’s Hoops) does a does an outstanding job and he’ll keep us updated with what Dylan’s status is.”
So Disu avoided disaster with the ankle injury but did pick up a minor sprain. Sounds like he’ll be back the next game, and if not, then most likely the game after that. Either way, he’s not missing extended time, according to these reports. A sigh of relief for Longhorn nation.
