Ivan Melendez

Ivan Melendez has done a lot of good things for Texas baseball this season but nothing has been better than his home run ability. The slugger was at it again on Sunday afternoon, getting the party started early for the Longhorns against East Carolina.

Before even recording an out, Melendez was able to hit a three-run home run to give Texas a 3-0 lead in the first inning. The first two batters got on base via an infield single and walk before Melendez hit a deep drive into the left field.

You can watch the home run here.

Melendez is now up to 32 home runs on the season, already a program record. He was the first college baseball player to have a 30 home run reason since Kris Bryant did so in 2013.
