On Aug. 14, a Texas Longhorns legend came through Austin, but it wasn’t a Texas Longhorns football player but instead, it was former WWE superstar, The Undertaker.

The Undertaker is an incredibly popular wrestler from the WWE. He was the longest-tenured wrestler in the WWE’s company history in 30 years.

On Aug, 14, both brands crossed paths when The Undertaker was in attendance to watch the Texas Longhorns football scrimmage. So, the team decided to give him a special gift, a helmet that featured his logo on the inside of it.

The Undertaker is actually a lifelong Texas Longhorns football fan and lives in Austin, Texas. He commented on the gift after they gave it to him.

“That’s awesome,” The Undertaker said. “As a lifelong Horns fan, that just means the world to me. That’s two symbols of excellence right there.”

THE UNDERTAKER

The Undertaker’s real name is Mark Callaway. He joined the then-WWF as a wrestler back in 1990. The WWF is now known as the WWE. He was the only remaining active competitor from the very first episode of WWE Raw in 1993 until he recently retired. His wrestling career spanned over 35 years.

He’s widely regarded as one of the best wrestlers of all time. Callaway has earned 17 WWE Championships, including four WWE championships. The Austin, Texas native is the second most prolific pay-per-view performer of all time.

The Undertaker had an undefeated streak at WrestleMania of 21-0 before losing to Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 30, according to his Pro Wrestling Wiki page.

He originally made his wrestling debut as “Cain The Undertaker” at WWF Survivor Series on November 19, 1990. His signature move when he wrestled was the “Tombstone Piledriver.” Check out the video clip of the move below.

The Undertaker, as you might imagine, is a massive human being. He checks in at 6-foot-10, 299 pounds. He’s currently 56 years old.

Texas football kicks off their season on Sept. 4, against Louisiana-Lafayette at 4:30 PM.
