Zephyrhills (Fla.) Carrollwood Day four-star wide receiver Izaiah Williams is currently committed to the Florida Gators, but offers continue to roll in for the talented pass-catcher.

Texas offered Williams this weekend as the Longhorns look to boost their 13th-ranked 2024 recruiting class.

Williams has been pledged to the Gators since early May.

“I chose the University of Florida for several reasons,” Williams told Gators Online. “First, UF is one of the top-five public universities in the nation. Academics play a huge role in my decision and I feel Florida provides me with a premier learning experience within the state of Florida.

“Second, I really love the football program and I can see the vision with coach Napier and coach Gonzales. I’m just really excited to be a part of this program. I feel like I can be a big aspect of this team.

“And lastly, Florida has been my dream school since I was growing up and I always wanted to play in the SEC. I love the atmosphere and feel at home when I’m there.”

Williams is the nation’s No. 333 overall prospect and No. 57 wide receiver in the 2024 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 44 player in Florida.

On3 rates Williams higher than any other major recruiting service. He is the No. 254 prospect in the 2024 On300 and No. 44 wide receiver.

Texas looking to add to talented class

Texas currently has two receivers committed to its 2024 class in Schertz (Texas) Smithson Valley four-star Freddie Dubose Jr. and Lucas (Texas) Lovejoy four-star Parker Livingstone. Adding Williams would be a great boost to the offensive side of the class as the Longhorns approach the home stretch in the 2024 cycle.

Texas’ most recent commitment was a big one — Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei five-star offensive tackle Brandon Baker pledged to the Longhorns on September 24, joining Duncanville (Texas) Five-Star Plus+ EDGE Colin Simmons as the second five-star prospect in the Longhorns’ class.
