Texas running back Bijan Robinson leaves Kansas game with injury
Texas star running back Bijan Robinson has been banged up the past few weeks with a number of injuries. Last week against Iowa State, he took a number of brutal shots and suffered a neck strain, according to On3’s Joe Cook. Tonight against Kansas, Robinson injured his wrist and was seen walking back to the locker room with trainers.
He injured his arm just after Texas blocked a Kansas punt, and taking over deep in Kansas territory. After stiff-arming a Kansas defender, Robinson fell to the ground immediately and was in a noticeable amount of pain.
On3’s Joe Cook gave his thoughts on how the injury occurred on Twitter.
After getting up, he immediately went to the Texas locker room and will likely be out for the remainder of the game.
If serious, of course the injury would be a massive blow to Texas football, as Robinson is one of the best playmakers in all of college football. He was in contention for the Heisman Trophy at one point during the season.
Robinson eclipsed 1,000-yards
On the season, he’s already rushed for over 1,000 rushing yards–becoming the second Texas running back in a decade to eclipse 1,000 yards in a season since D’Onta Foreman did it back in 2016. He’s also racked up 11 touchdowns this season on the ground for the ‘Horns.
Before he left the game, Robinson continued to show just how dominant of a running back prospect he truly is.
Check out the 25-yard touchdown catch he had tonight against Kansas.
Before leaving the game, the star tailback had three catches for 40 yards and a touchdown through the air, along with 14 carries for 70 rushing yards.

Robinson’s injury comes on a brutal night of injuries for Texas, as star receiver Xavier Worthy left the game earlier as well.
Bijan Robinson was a freshman phenom
There was a lot of hype surrounding Robinson before he even touched a football his freshman year at Texas, but the phenom didn’t disappoint.
In just five games last season, Robinson erupted for 703 rushing yards and four touchdowns. The Arizona native averaged over eight yards per carry. As a receiver, Robinson hauled in 15 catches for 196 yards and two touchdowns.
His best performance came in the Alamo Bowl against the Colorado Buffaloes. He gashed them for 183 rushing yards and one touchdown on just 10 rushing attempts, averaging 13.1 yards per carry.
