Bijan Robinson shares how he wants Texas fans to remember him
Texas running back Bijan Robinson has decided to forgo the Longhorns’ Alamo Bowl game versus Washington as he’s declared for the 2023 NFL Draft. Robinson will go down as one of Texas’ best running backs in school history, but wants to be remembered for much more than that as he turns the page on his career with the Longhorns.
“Obviously I can always speak on the field, but I don’t want them to remember me with that, that’s obvious. But I want them to remember, like I was telling him, just being the good guy I try to be and just a guy that always put a smile on their face,” Robinson said.
Robinson’s play during his time in Austin speaks for itself, ranking fourth all-time in rushing yards in school history with 3,410. But off the field, so does his character, as he shared what he wants his legacy to be through a past encounter he’s had with a fan.
“The cool thing is every time I talk to a fan or a supporter they’re always smiling at me, just a huge smile I see. And I’m obviously smiling at them too, but you can just see a change in their attitude,” Robinson explained. “One time there was a guy that I was talking to and you could tell he was just not having a good day, just not in the best frame of mind, and I walked up from behind him and I was like, ‘hey what’s up’. I mean his whole world just flipped upside down, you would’ve never thought that he was just in a bad state of mind. He just was in a positive, smiling attitude, just super happy as can be so that’s what I really want people to remember me as.”
It’s clear that Robinson has left smiles on the faces of Longhorn fans both on and off the field during his time with the team, as he also tried to do so though his engaging with the media and participation in NIL.

“And just somebody that would always represent them well, and if I got to say something to the media or something that they can not just see me as a football players but see me as a guy that’s tried to speak some knowledge and some good attitude into them. And even off the field NIL has definitely been a blessing, I’ve learned so much in that aspect and I try to do things that everybody can relate to and everybody can get excited about,” Robinson said.
Robinson is currently ranked the No. 8 overall prospect for the 2023 NFL Draft according to Mel Kiper’s big board, but no matter what he does at the next level or how high he gets drafted, his impact and legacy on and off the field on the University of Texas will remain constant.
“So that’s another cool thing that’s been happening, but like I was saying the first time, just wanted the people to know me as being the best guy possible,” Robinson said.
