Texas senior Rori Harmon has announced that she will return to the Longhorns for a fifth and final season of eligibility. She made the announcement on Instagram.

Harmon was one of the key pieces in the team’s run to the Final Four this season. She averaged 8.4 points, 5.6 assists and 3.6 steals per game in the NCAA Tournament.

“After tearing my ACL in December of 2023, I was sidelined for much of my junior year, only getting to play in 12 games.” Rori Harmon said. “But through it all, the support from my teammates, coaches and staff has been incredible. This university has done so much for me, not only as an athlete but as a student. I was blessed to graduate in three years and am currently pursuing a Masters degree. To be blessed and honored to attend this university, why wouldn’t I want to run it back?

“To Longhorn Nation, I’m excited to say I’ll be using my redshirt year and coming back to play in front of you amazing fans and share another year with my teammates. Let’s finish what we started. Hook ‘Em!”

As noted, Rori Harmon suffered a torn ACL in the 2023-24 season, sidelining her for the majority of the campaign. She appeared in just 12 games, few enough to earn an extra year of eligibility via medical redshirt from the NCAA.

And while Harmon’s numbers took a step back in her return this season, she was still quite good. She averaged 9.3 points, 5.9 assists and 3.5 rebounds per game.

Prior to her injury in 2023-24, Rori Harmon was having a career year. She averaged 14.1 points, 7.8 rebounds and 4.6 assists while shooting 52.3% from the floor and 31.8% from 3-point range.

If that’s the version of Harmon that Texas gets in her return for a final season, watch out. The Longhorns will likely be a major contender yet again.
