WATCH: Texas Tech fans start expletive-laden chant towards Chris Beard
Lubbock, TX is the site of the first matchup of the season between the Texas Longhorns and the Texas Tech Red Raiders. A lot more than just a win in the Big 12 is on the line, as head coach Chris Beard is returning for the first time since leaving the Red Raiders.
Texas Tech fans decided to gather and greet the Texas bus on Monday night as the team and Beard arrived. They started out with some simple boos, before turning toward a chant — showing their displeasure with the Longhorns overall.
You can watch the full sequence here. Warning — there is strong language.
As tipoff grows closer, the hostility from the Texas Tech fans is only going to grow. They have been waiting to let out their frustrations ever since Beard announced he would be going to Austin. Tuesday will be the first of many opportunities they will have.
