Report: Texas to host Kansas State transfer Arthur Kaluma on a visit
Arthur Kaluma, the top uncommitted player left in the transfer portal, reportedly has his next visit set.
Per sources for Jon Rothstein, Kaluma will be taking a visit to Texas to start next week.
Kaluma declared for the NBA Draft and entered his name into the portal within the same week to end April. He then withdrew his name from the draft in time by the deadline at the end of May to return to college basketball.
Kaluma took a visit to SMU earlier this week. His other reported interests include schools like Memphis and Villanova.
Kaluma spent the first three seasons of his career at Creighton and Kansas State. He began with the Bluejays in the Big East for his first pair of years before spending last season in the Big 12 with the Wildcats.

Over 101 games with both, Kaluma has averaged 12.2 points and 6.1 rebounds in 30.1 minutes per game. That includes a career year this past season at K-State where he posted 14.4 points, seven rebounds, and a pair of assists in 33 appearances with 32 starts. That earned him recognition as an All-Big 12 Honorable Mention.
For reference, Kaluma played the Longhorns twice last season while with Kansas State. He averaged 15.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, and two assists while going 1-1 against them. The one win came in a 78-74 victory in the Big 12 Tournament.
Kaluma, a native of Glendale, was a four-star prospect and the No. 50 overall recruit in the 2021 cycle. That’s according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He also rated as the No. 12 PF in his class and the No. 4 player out of Arizona. That made him the top commitment for the Bluejays in their No. 15 class. That five-commitment class also featured others like Ryan Nembhard and Trey Alexander.
Now, per On3’s 2024 Transfer Portal Top Players, Kaluma is the No. 89 overall transfer and the No. 17 PF.
With this visit to Austin, Kaluma could join a Top-30 portal class for Rodney Terry and the Longhorns. Texas has already added five transfers in Tramon Mark (Arkansas), Jordan Pope (Oregon State), Jayson Kent plus Julian Larry (Indiana State), and Malik Presley (Vanderbilt). Four of the five rank in the Top-125 with Mark (No. 25 overall, No. 6 SG) and Pope (No. 45, No. 3 CG) both in the Top-50.
