Timmy Allen details how Baylor's roster has changed since last meeting
Back on the final days of January, Texas was able to get a win in Austin against Baylor. Round Two will be taking place on Saturday in the Ferrell Center, with both technically still having a chance to win a Big 12 championship. Longhorns forward Timmy Allen is locked in, hoping to snag a third consecutive win.
Baylor looks different compared to the Jan. 30 matchup. Two players have rejoined the lineup and become a key part of the rotation. Head coach Scott Drew has seen Langston Love and Jonathan Tchamwa Tchatchoua make impacts over the past few weeks.
Allen broke down both guys, beginning with Tchamwa Tchatchoua. The injury suffered against Texas was once Allen says is still on his mind but admires the journey back to playing. He knows if Baylor is going to be slowed down, limiting Tchamwa Tchatchoua will be key.
“Both are impact, strong players,” Allen said. “The big guy down low does a lot for them and we know that. Unfortunately, his injury happened against us last year. We got a lot of love and respect for him in that aspect. He’s a great player and demands some attention. So, we got to be locked in on the details with that.”
As for Love, Allen described him as many around the country would. A great scorer for Baylor and makes up an impressive group of guards. The freshman will be getting his first taste of a game against Texas but Allen seems ready to go.

“Langston Love — strong, aggressive guard,” Allen said. “Likes it shoot it, likes to get downhill. And he can do a lot of things. We just have to be locked in.”
Timmy Allen wants Texas to focus on matchups
However, from Allen’s perspective, every opponent is the same. If Texas is able to focus on themselves and win individual matchups, the forward likes their chances.
“It’s no different than anyone else,” Allen said. “Detail, assignment, tendencies. Just honing in on the matchup. Try to win your matchup, one on ones. That’s really our focus, no different than anyone else. Two great impact guys. Just got to be locked in.”
Tip-off on Saturday comes at 1 p.m. CT in Waco with ESPN having the broadcast. It’s rare a team can look so different, from a personnel standpoint, throughout different points of conference play. Baylor will be hoping the two additions will lead to a win.
