Tramon Mark injury update: Rodney Terry pushes back on belief Texas guard was unavailable

It wasn’t an injury that led to a season-low in minutes this week for Texas’ Tramon Mark. At least, not according to Rodney Terry.
The Texas head coach was asked about Mark being injured and how that affected the Longhorns in their 86-81 OT loss at Arkansas on Wednesday. He clarified that Mark wasn’t hurt but that they felt they had a better option than him on the night with the play of Devon Pryor.
“I don’t think Tramon went down. He still was available to play,” Terry noted at the end of his press conference. “Devon Pryor was playing really well and thought Devon was doing a really good job on, on Davis guarding-wise and everything. You know, Tramon got some good looks and just wasn’t able to score some, score some baskets tonight.”
Mark, the fourth-leading scorer for Texas, could not get it going at all against one of his former schools in the ‘Hogs. In 18 minutes, he, although averaging 9.3 points on 38.3% from the field and 35.1% from three, scored two points on one basket at 12.5% shooting overall and missing each of his attempts from distance. He did grab six rebounds, though, which was nearly a season-high for him.
In his place, Pyror had six points on 3-of-4 shooting, three boards, and a block in 34 minutes. That was a career-best for him in playing time as a sophomore for the Burnt Orange. The lineup did change for Texas in a much-needed game in Fayetteville. It just didn’t happen because of injury, like they thought, to Mark.
“He was fine,” Terry closed.
