New Texas head baseball coach Jim Schlossnagle has wasted little time in the transfer portal, reeling in several prospects the past few days. The Longhorns landed another big-time prospect in the portal on Sunday, as Louisiana Monroe outfielder Easton Winfield will wear the burnt orange, according to Joe Doyle of Future Stars Series. He hit 10 home runs last year and had 18 stolen bases. Winfield is also touted as a Top 100 prospect in the 2026 MLB Draft, according to Future Stars Series.

Here is the announcement Winfield posted on his Twitter page.

Winfield played his high school baseball for Alvin High School in Alvin, Texas. As a senior (2023), he was named first team All-District while hitting .350 with four home runs. As a junior in 2022, he was also named second team All-District. A dynamic athlete, he also played football as a sophomore and junior.
