Video surfaces claiming Texas coach ripped players laughing after loss
The Texas Longhorns on Saturday suffered their fourth consecutive loss in a 30-7 blowout against Iowa State, and it seems that the latest loss may have put defensive line coach Bo Davis over the edge.
Texas dropped to 4-5 (2-4) with the loss, as first-year head coach Steve Sarkisian continues to take steps backwards in Austin. The Longhorns blew another lead on Saturday, though this one was only a 7-3 halftime lead, an unfortunate turn of events for a program that blew three-straight double-digit leads before heading to Ames. Davis, a member of Sarkisian’s initial staff, appears to have lost his cool at his unit following Saturday’s loss.
A video surfaced on Twitter Tuesday in which a user claims Davis is yelling choice words at the Texas players. In the video, however, the lighting is dark and hard to make out, so it remains unclear if it is, in fact, Davis.
“Some of you motherf— need to get in the transfer portal,” the voice says, in part. “You want to go? Get in the motherf—. This s— ain’t a game to me. … I got my a— kicked, and you motherf— want to laugh?”

The voice, which Twitter says to be Davis’, seems to be yelling at the players on the team bus after the loss. According to the commentary, it seems as though some Texas players were laughing after boarding the team bus, prompting Davis’ tirade on the Longhorns.
Davis’ defensive line unit, in particular, looked poor at best on Saturday. The bulk of Iowa State’s offense against Texas came via running back Bryce Hall, who took 19 carries for 136 yards and two touchdowns, as Texas’ defensive front was unable to contain the ground game. Further, Texas was not able to bring much pressure to Iowa State quarterback Brock Purdy, as the senior from Gilbert, Arizona threw for 252 yards, completing 27 of his 38 pass attempts. Texas’ front only sacked him once, allowing Purdy plenty of time to operate in the pocket.
Texas’ offense, on the other hand, had immense trouble against the Iowa State defense, which racked up five sacks and recovered two critical fumbles, both of which came out of the hands of star running back Bijan Robinson. Robinson, who dealt with a couple in-game injuries, had a tough day, rushing for just 90 yards on 18 carries. Meanwhile, Texas went back to Hudson Card under center while the offense stalled under Casey Thompson, but the change in quarterback hardly made a difference.
