WATCH: Brock Cunningham hilariously trolls rowdy Texas Tech fans
As Texas Tech fans shouted explicit chants at the Texas Longhorns’ basketball team, junior Brock Cunningham took the chance to egg on the crowd. Cunningham walked from around the team’s bus to the crowd of Red Raiders’ fans gathered to heckle them, raising his hands with the “Horns” signal and baiting the crowd.
Texas and Texas Tech already have a strong rivalry, but the storyline this season involving Texas head coach Chris Beard has sent it to a new level. Beard took over as head coach of Texas following the 2021 season, making this his first return to Lubbock and his former team.
Texas Tech fans gathered to greet the Texas players and their former coach with loud boos and strong words, eventually growing into an explicit chant. If the Red Raiders’ welcoming committee is any indication, Tuesday’s matchup between the programs will be a hostile environment for sure.
