Oregon State wide receiver transfer Silas Bolden commits to Texas

Oregon State wide receiver transfer Silas Bolden has committed to Texas, he told On3’s Hayes Fawcett. Bolden was recently in Austin for a visit and will now spend his final season of eligibility playing under head coach Steve Sarkisian.
In 13 games with the Beavers last season, Bolden had a career year with 54 receptions, 746 yards, and five touchdowns. There were some contributions on the ground too, going for 84 yards and two touchdowns on just nine carries.
Bolden is the third wide receiver Texas has added through the portal this cycle. Houston‘s Matthew Golden was first before Sarkisian made a huge move by bringing Isaiah Bond to the 40 Acres via Alabama.
Returning sophomore Johntay Cook is expected to round out the group for the moment, giving returning quarterback Quinn Ewers quite the group of weapons to work with during the 2024 season. Sarkisian will now have a versatile player on his hands, hoping to deploy Bolden in multiple different roles to benefit the Texas offense.
