Dana Holgerson is having a good Tuesday, adding Latrell McCutchin to Houston‘s roster. Previously of Oklahoma and USC, McCutchin adds Power Five experience for the Cougars as they transition from the AAC to the Big 12. A former four-star recruit in the 2021 recruiting class — a solid pickup for Holgerson and his coaching staff.

Those in Houston are not the only ones who are pumped to see McCutchin back in the Big 12. Texas wide receiver Xavier Worthy seems to be licking his chops at facing the defensive back once again. A video has circulated on Twitter of Worthy reacting to McCutchin’s announcement, giggling before rubbing his hand together like a plan is coming to fruition.

McCutchin last saw Worthy in Dallas, TX, at the Cotton Bowl for the annual Texas-Oklahoma game. You could say things went Worthy’s way, having his breakout performance as a true freshman. While Jaden Davis got a majority of snaps against Worthy, McCutchin got burned on a few occasions in the fourth quarter.

Now, the goal is to do the same when Texas and Houston face off this season. You can check out the full video of Worthy here.

When watching Worthy’s highlights from the 2021 Texas-Oklahoma game, the final two come with McCutchin in coverage. That includes a game-tying touchdown with just under two minutes to go as Worthy was able to win a jump ball and fall into the end zone.

Both were true freshmen at the time, playing in their first rivalry game. McCutchin is an Austin native as well, attending LBJ High School.

Of course, the Sooners won the game with a near walk-off score via Kennedy Brooks. But Worthy made his name known around the country with a nine-reception, 261-yard, and two-touchdown performance. Unfortunately for McCutchin, he was on the opposite end of some of it.

You can circle Oct. 21 on your calendar, as Worthy probably already has. Texas will head on the road to face off against Houston. There is a good chance he will line up against McCutchin once again. In what could have been a minor storyline heading into the game, all eyes will be on the matchup.

This is what the offseason is all about — players having a little fun trash-talking one another. We are four months away from Texas and Houston facing off for the first time as Big 12 opponents. Plenty of people are excited when it comes around but Worthy appears to be counting down the days.
