Five-Star Plus+ WR Micah Hudson visits Texas Tech
Temple (Texas) Lake Belton Five-Star Plus+ wide receiver Micah Hudson is back in Lubbock a month after he took his official visit to Texas Tech.
This is at least the sixth visit to Texas Tech for Hudson, who has regularly visited the in-state Red Raiders.
“Texas Tech still looks to be in the driver’s seat to land elite wide receiver Micah Hudson,” On3 Director of Recruiting Chad Simmons wrote earlier this month. “There was chatter that Hudson close to committing in June. He chose not to, but the buzz is still strong around the Red Raiders. He took an official visit to Lubbock in the middle of June, Hudson has a strong relationship with Justin Johnson and the star out of Lake Belton High School is on commitment watch.”
Hudson is the No. 6 overall prospect and No. 2 wide receiver in the 2024 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 2 player in Texas.
Hudson feels like he’s ‘at home’ at Texas Tech
Hudson officially visited Texas Tech in June. He was originally scheduled to officially visit Texas, but did not make it. Other unofficial visits include trips to Texas A&M, Oklahoma, SMU, Baylor, TCU, Ohio State and LSU.

“It’s the culture, how they are as a people, and it’s not just for show,” Hudson previously said. “… They’re ready to work and they don’t put on any faces. It’s the same every time I go there, and even though I’m a good player and don’t care about a lot of that stuff, they’ve been the same way since they offered me. This new staff just has fun. I can have fun and can be myself. I never feel uncomfortable there. And I don’t feel four hours away … I feel like I’m at home.”
Hudson currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $327K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM), Texas Tech is the overwhelming favorite to receive Hudson’s commitment at 81.7%. Texas is second behind the Red Raiders at 14.7%.
