LOOK: Texas Tech head coach Joey McGuire at game of 2024 top-10 WR Micah Hudson
During his first season in Lubbock, Texas Tech head coach Joey McGuire has the Red Raiders off to a promising start on the recruiting trail. Keeping Texas players home has been a key part of McGuire’s success, something he hopes to achieve with one of the top prospects in the 2024 cycle.
McGuire and Texas Tech wide receivers coach Emmett Jones are attending the game of Temple (Texas) Lake Belton four-star wide receiver Micah Hudson on Friday night. The 6-foot-0, 190 pound wideout has taken two unofficial visits to the Red Raiders, most recently on April 16.
Hudson is the No. 9 overall prospect and No. 3 wide receiver in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 1 player in Texas.
The Lone Star State native has received 22 offers. According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, Texas A&M is leading for his commitment at 38.8%.

Michigan prepared to offer No. 1 recruit $10.5M over 4 years
RPM was released to the public in December. The On3 engineering group teamed up with Spiny.ai to create the industry’s first algorithm and machine learning-based product to predict where athletes will attend college.
It factors in machine learning, social sentiment, visits and historical trends. However, expert predictions are still a big piece of the RPM equation.
Hudson has an On3 NIL Valuation of $135K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
